Aside from being super pumped about transferring back to UNO, my band had a couple shows this weekend that turned out very well. You should check us out, and like us on Facebook! We are Kakarot! We're a mathcore band, which I'm sure a lot of you don't know what that is. We are a mix between metalcore and jazz fusion. We are a bunch of really fun guys who enjoy music to its full capacity. We play shows because we enjoy them and enjoy seeing people enjoying them with us. Show us to your friends and remember to like us on Facebook. I'm sure if you search for us, we'll show up. And ALSO! We are on iTunes and you can buy our EP, "EP" for $8. If you're from the Omaha area, you can buy one from us for $5. We won't disappoint!
I'm excited for Christmas and I'm watching Toy Story 2 right now. Nostalgia to the max.

Transfer
It's official! I'm packing up from Lincoln and moving back to Omaha and going to the university here at semester. I'm excited. I had to do a lot to make it work, but it's gonna happen. :) So excited.
Last final is tomorrow, then I'm done. :)
Not much else to say. I'll let post more later :)

Weekend Before Finals
Let me explain the picture of where I'm at right now. I'm watching the Appalachian State vs. Villanova, realizing that App St. don't have very respecting fans. My cat, Muffin, is sitting on my lap while I'm on Facebook and writing my blog. It's snowing outside, which is the first "real" snow I've seen this winter (kinda pumped about this!). I'm going to see Peter Pan tonight, I think at the Community Playhouse. I also downloaded an emulator to play pokémon!
Am I studying at all? Nope. I'll probably touch up on some Calculus, but overall, probably not.
As for my other finals, I destroyed my English project, got a B on my poetry paper, just have to revise my Philosophy paper by Thursday, and do some optimization problems for Calculus by Monday. I do have a poetry final on Thursday, but I'm not worried about it, and I can't really study for (just analyzing a poem) so I guess I'll just wing it.
Thanks for reading, drive safe if you're going through any winter wonderland weather! And good luck to those of you going through finals as well.

Finals (cont.)
Not much to say other than I'm completely done with studying for the night. I'm exhausted and irritable and just want this semester to be over with. Just two more days, then two days next week. I guess I can't complain too much, especially since I only have two finals in all.
I presented my project to my English class and read my poem Don't Care to Ask, a poem about the repeal of the Don't Ask Don't Tell policy. Did it go well? Everyone was speechless after just reading the first page, so I'd say so. I'll post the poem next week.
My Calculus final seems less daunting, as there is only one concept that I don't understand and I plan on going to a my professor's office hours to get some extra help on understanding why it works. I think by the end of next week, I'll be pretty satisfied with how the final turned out. Not understanding two things on a final a week before isn't too bad, especially since I still have time to figure it out.
Also, I'm done with this cold weather. Is it summer yet?

Dead Walk
Dead week has barely just begun and I'm already tired of it. I just failed a math test hard (I never thought I'd say that) so I'm stressing for my final just so I can manage a C. Oh well, can't change it now! I probably won't party much anymore though. I think I'm doing pretty well in my other classes. Presenting my final portfolio in my writing class, have to make some revisions on my philosophy paper, and poetry final next Thursday. All in all, not too shabby of a final schedule.
I can't wait to get back to Omaha though. I miss my girlfriend and my nephew, and this week is just too stressful and exhausting to want to continue -- and it's only Tuesday. I guess tomorrow is hump day!
Now for the reason of the blog: Sports! The Huskers were picked to play in the Holiday Bowl, again! We will be playing Washington, again! Who we beat in September: 56-21! And who we play next year as a non-conference game! At first, I was mad. Especially since they had to beat Washington State and become bowl eligible. But I guess that's just my own personal wants coming into play. But we would have gotten to play Notre Dame! Tradition! Oh well, playing a team, albeit not a very good one, from a conference with two (I think) teams in BCS bowls, one of which is in the National Championship game is not all that bad. So I'm not too upset. Still, it's not like the Pac 10 is even comparable to the caliber of the SEC or Big 10 (maybe Big 10).
Bo made a statement that he was "disappointed with the bowl selection just as he was disappointed with the game [against Oklahoma]." I'm disappointed that we didn't get what I feel we deserved, but that's how it played out, and that's what happens when you lose key games in high pressure situations. Still, we lost three games by a total of thirteen points, which destroys every other team's loss by points in the Big 12, even Big 12 South. But I guess we can't be too upset that the Holiday Bowl head chairman said something along the lines of "When we get the chance to get a team with the tradition and national dominance like Nebraska, we have to take it."
I guess after we (hopefully) dominate Washington again on December 30th, we can only look forward to our path to the Big 10. I, for one, am very excited, and even though we don't get to keep the Big 12 trophy in our Big 10 trophy case, it was still a pretty successful year. Not many teams can say they have a 10-11 win season.
Prediction
NU - 49
Wash - 9

heart felt
I decided not to wait and post my first published poem just so those of you viewing my page know what to expect :P Give any feedback, this is one of my top three favorite poems, and I'll be sure to post more, probably once a week.
i climbed a tree today.
it was green and tall and
there were two birds nests.
each had three blue eggs with
baby birds waiting to hatch
and spread their wings.
i climbed a tree today.
and i laughed at the people below,
the ones who couldnt see things from
my perspective.
those who laughed, cried, yelled, screamed
at the kids who sat in their lawn
reading books and thinking outloud.
i climbed a tree yesterday.
and i dont remember
how i thought.
i dont remember the people i saw.
i dont remember the expression i had.
i remember how i felt two years ago.
up against a
brick wall
with someone telling me what to believe.
i remember how i felt the first time i knew i was in love.
but i dont remember what it felt like
to know the world. to understand
everything.
i climbed a tree yesterday.
and i asked if you wanted to come up.
and you said
i wont waste my time on it.
and when i climbed the tree again today,
and the green grass grew shorter than
i had seen it before,
i remembered why i didnt remember
how i felt yesterday.
and i laughed
and got down.

Welcome!
Hello bloggers, thanks for checking out my blog! I'm new to this and haven't blogged since Xanga, haha. If you want, I plan on writing about sports and my thoughts and opinions on certain events, specifically Nebraska Cornhusker football (Go Big Red!). I will also be posting some of my own poetry. Comment and let me know how you like it!
A little bit about me: I'm a freshman at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, I'm in a band called Kakarot, I enjoy many different types of music, ranging from jazz to classical to rap to deathcore. There really isn't a type that I won't like. I even listen noise on my free time. I played in the marching band in high school and was bass section leader on the drumline. I have a wonderful girlfriend who I've dated for quite a while. I actually enjoy school for the point of education, not the whole "party" scene, which anyone I've told, they've been quite surprised. As for beliefs and such, it gets more complicated. I don't follow an organized religion, but I do believe in a higher deity and normally use the tag "deist" more than anything else. I also have more liberal tendencies.
I hope you all check out my blog, follow me if you'd like! I promise I won't bore you :P and I'll be sure to follow you as well. I'm sure you all like getting comments so I'll try and comment as much as possible on yours if you do the same to mine!
Thanks for reading! Have a safe winter and holiday season. Merry Christmas!
