Dead Walk

Dead week has barely just begun and I'm already tired of it. I just failed a math test hard (I never thought I'd say that) so I'm stressing for my final just so I can manage a C. Oh well, can't change it now! I probably won't party much anymore though. I think I'm doing pretty well in my other classes. Presenting my final portfolio in my writing class, have to make some revisions on my philosophy paper, and poetry final next Thursday. All in all, not too shabby of a final schedule.

I can't wait to get back to Omaha though. I miss my girlfriend and my nephew, and this week is just too stressful and exhausting to want to continue -- and it's only Tuesday. I guess tomorrow is hump day!

Now for the reason of the blog: Sports! The Huskers were picked to play in the Holiday Bowl, again! We will be playing Washington, again! Who we beat in September: 56-21! And who we play next year as a non-conference game! At first, I was mad. Especially since they had to beat Washington State and become bowl eligible. But I guess that's just my own personal wants coming into play. But we would have gotten to play Notre Dame! Tradition! Oh well, playing a team, albeit not a very good one, from a conference with two (I think) teams in BCS bowls, one of which is in the National Championship game is not all that bad. So I'm not too upset. Still, it's not like the Pac 10 is even comparable to the caliber of the SEC or Big 10 (maybe Big 10).

Bo made a statement that he was "disappointed with the bowl selection just as he was disappointed with the game [against Oklahoma]." I'm disappointed that we didn't get what I feel we deserved, but that's how it played out, and that's what happens when you lose key games in high pressure situations. Still, we lost three games by a total of thirteen points, which destroys every other team's loss by points in the Big 12, even Big 12 South. But I guess we can't be too upset that the Holiday Bowl head chairman said something along the lines of "When we get the chance to get a team with the tradition and national dominance like Nebraska, we have to take it."

I guess after we (hopefully) dominate Washington again on December 30th, we can only look forward to our path to the Big 10. I, for one, am very excited, and even though we don't get to keep the Big 12 trophy in our Big 10 trophy case, it was still a pretty successful year. Not many teams can say they have a 10-11 win season.

Prediction
NU - 49
Wash - 9
